Endowment

Elyria Catholic Educational Endowment Foundation...
Investing in the future of Elyria Catholic High School since 1981.

What is the Endowment Foundation?

The Endowment Foundation is a trust fund that is administered by a board of fifteen individuals. Three of these individuals are appointed as a result of their office and include the Superintendent of Schools of the Diocese of Cleveland, the Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Schools of the Diocese of Cleveland and the President/Principal of Elyria Catholic High School. The remaining twelve members serve staggered terms of two, three and four years. The Board member must be a graduate of Elyria Catholic High School, have had a child attend ECHS, or have exhibited a sustained interest in ECHS. All board members serve without compensation.

How is the money for the Endowment to be raised?

How the funds are raised is left to the ingenuity and creativity of the board members. The board may provide funding for the trust by whatever means possible, yet in keeping with the purpose for which the trust was initially established.

How often is money from the Endowment distributed to the school?

Funds from the Endowment are distributed to the school annually.

What is the money from the Endowment spent for?

Three priorities were set forth for expending amounts from the Endowment. These priorities are:

To augment the payment of operational expenses of Elyria Catholic High School

For scholarships for current and prospective students of Elyria Catholic High School.

For capital improvements to the real and personal property of Elyria Catholic High School.

No withdrawal of either principle or interest may be made from the fund without a three/fourths majority of the fifteen members of the board.

How can I make a contribution to the Endowment?

Tax-deductible contributions may be made though the Development Office at Elyria Catholic High School. When making your donation, please ask that it be added to the Educational Endowment Foundation.
